“the shoot was so relaxed I knew the photos would be brilliant, but they far exceeded my expectations”

- Sam & Baby Rosie

Breastfeeding is one of the most incredible journeys you will go on. It can be crazy hard, exhausting and overwhelming, but it is also beautiful, emotional and the greatest bonding experience with your child. It can make you feel like the most bad-ass version of yourself and make you appreciate how amazing your own body is when it is nourishing another human.

Your journey will be different to everyone else’s, all those tiny details, like the way their little hand holds your necklace or finger, their little wiggly toes, or the way they stroke your skin, because being held close just isn’t quite close enough for them. All these little things make YOUR journey unique to you and your little one.

Wouldn’t it be great if you had gorgeous photos of all this, of you and your child to look back on for years to come, that show the magic and beauty in what you achieved together, and how bad-ass your body was for growing that small human with the milk it made?

What to expect from your shoot with me.

At the shoot

We will spend up to 1 hour together capturing those precious moments and tiny details of you feeding your little one.

Although we will try to time our shoot around a usual feed, I know that small people very rarely play by the rules and if they need a bit more time then we just go with the flow, I don’t want you to feel rushed, I want you to relax and enjoy this time.

About Me

It's really important that you feel like we would get along before you book a shoot with me, especially as breastfeeding can feel like a very personal, intimate thing. So let me tell you about myself;

I’m Franki. I’m a mum of three, and I survive on coffee, chocolate and very little sleep. I totally understand that kids NEVER do what you want them to, when you want them to and I don’t take life too seriously.

I love a good natter, or as my mum would say, I could talk the hind leg off a donkey.

I’ve had three very different breastfeeding experiences, which means I know all the ups and downs that go along with breastfeeding so whether it’s been a walk in the park for you or you’ve struggled, I can absolutely empathise.

Oh and I can’t walk past a dog without saying hello!

FAQ’s

  • What if my child is fussy during the shoot?

We will chat before your shoot to try and plan it around a usual feed time for your little one. But if your child is a bit fussy or distracted it’s not a problem. I don’t need lots of time with them feeding to get photos and we can work around your little one. If it takes longer than we expected then we wait a little bit. I’m a mum of two myself and I’ve worked with children for the last 11 years, I know they always throw curve balls.

  • What if someone gets ill?

If we need to reschedule the shoot for illness that’s not a problem, I ask for as much notice as possible, preferably at least 24hrs. We will then reschedule for the next best date.

  • Does my shoot have to be outside?

Absolutely not. As much as I am super passionate about normalising breastfeeding, I also realise not everyone is comfortable feeding in public, is if you’d prefer to have a shoot at home that’s fine. Alternatively, we can look at secluded outdoor locations where you are less likely to be seen. I try to do this anyway as it helps relax everyone and there is less distraction for little ones.

  • I’m a bit nervous about you seeing my boobs/nipples.

Honestly, a lot of people are and I get it. My boobs and nipples aren’t my favourite body part, despite how amazing they are at feeding my kid. I’m not gonna lie, I might see more than you had hoped for depending on the age of your little one, as older ones tend to let go at the best times, but I have seen so many nipples that yours won’t be the first or last. I also would love to tell you we can avoid it but let’s be realistic we probably can’t because of the nature of the shoot. What I can promise you though, is that I will only take photos you are comfortable with, so if you’d prefer to only have very discreet photos where you can’t see anything and it just looks like a cuddle then that’s what we will do. If you don’t mind a bit of side boob but don’t want any areola in the photos, again that’s fine. We will discuss all this at your consultation and make sure when the time comes, you are getting the photos YOU want and you feel really comfortable throughout the shoot.

  • Can I bring someone with me?

You can absolutely bring someone with you if it makes you feel more comfortable or even just as a helping hand. I can also include partners and other children in your shoot, but this is a shorter shoot so there isn’t lots of time for these kinds of photos. Again we can discuss this when we have our chat or you can book in for a longer shoot if you want the whole family a bit more involved.

Breastfeeding shoots are the perfect way to capture all the amazing bits that accompany your unique breastfeeding journey, so you have memories for the rest of your life, to cherish and look back on when your tiny human is no longer big enough to fit in the crook of your arm or on your knee. It’s time to get these photos before it’s too late and this chapter of their life is over.
